What Are Inlays and Onlays?
A dental restoration known as an inlay or onlay is specifically designed and made from durable ceramic material. It is bonded to the damaged part of the tooth to restore strength and function without compromising the healthy areas of your natural tooth. Inlays fit within the grooves of the tooth and do not extend over the cusps (chewing points). Onlays, on the other hand, cover one or more cusps, making them a conservative alternative to full crowns. Thanks to advancements in adhesive dentistry, we can now restore your teeth with less drilling and more precision.
